Wyeth Askeaton Becomes the First Site in Ireland to Achieve AWS Platinum Certification

Nestlé-owned Wyeth Nutritionals Ireland Ltd. has announced that its manufacturing plant in Askeaton has received a Platinum certification under the rigorous Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS) Standard. The Limerick-based site becomes the first site in Ireland, and only the second Nestlé site in the world, to earn this highest attainable rating.

This certification demonstrates the site’s elite performance in water stewardship and commitment to understanding their relationship with water, embedding the appropriate principles and measures into the factory, engaging with the local community and sharing best practices with the wider water stewardship community internationally.

Achieving a Platinum rating involves moving well beyond core AWS requirements and having significant, positive regional impacts. One of the key actions that set the site apart was its contributions to best water stewardship practices and tools development through its engagement with Water Stewardship Ireland and the international water stewardship community via the Nestle global water stewardship initiative.
