Ireland has developed a strong leadership position in addressing water stewardship responses across industry in recent years. The genesis of this movement can be traced back to 2013 when Water Stewardship Ireland, formally known as the Large Water Users Community of Practice, was established with the support of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
This voluntary, industry-led network of companies has since grown to consist of 300 of the largest production and service facilities across Ireland including global leaders, key national stakeholders and development agencies working to develop and maintain strong water stewardship practices in their operations.
Working in partnership with a range of National and European state agencies, stakeholders and industry, Water Stewardship Ireland has designed a clear pathway that enables businesses to access peer-to-peer expertise, turn-key water stewardship innovations and programmes, international certification and cutting edge research insights.
